Wisconsin's transfer quarterback cracks ESPN's Top 100 newcomers list

The Wisconsin Badgers had just one player make an appearance in ESPN’s list of the top 100 newcomers.

This list isn’t solely focused on freshman, rather, players who are new to their respective teams.

For Wisconsin, look no further than its transfer quarterback, Colton Joseph.

Joseph, who spent his first two years at Old Dominion, came in at No. 56 on this list. Overall, he’s the No. 12 player at his position.

“The Badgers languished at the sport’s most important position last year,” Billy Tucker wrote. “Joseph, an Old Dominion transfer, immediately raises the bar for the quarterback room.”

He continued, “A true dual-threat, Joseph was one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the country last season.”

Tucker praised Joseph’s arm talent, called him a “dynamic runner”, and said Joseph, “should raise the floor of a Badgers offense that endured its fair share of struggles.”

Of course, injuries were part of that, but Luke Fickell is confident his quarterback room has vastly improved in what could be a do-or-die season in regard to his future as the team’s head coach.
