Arguably the greatest quarterback in Wisconsin Badgers history, Russell Wilson, has announced his NFL retirement.
Set to join CBS Sports as an analyst, Wilson officially retired from the league on Wednesday, June 3.
Wilson’s transition to the booth comes as no surprise, especially after CBS was left with a void to fill now that Matt Ryan is back with the Atlanta Falcons.
Things may not have gone Wilson’s way in the final years of his career, but no one can take away the fact that he’s a Super Bowl Champion.
Wilson is a two-time NFC Champion and was named to 10 Pro Bowls throughout his incredible career, one that sees him as the 16th all-time passing yards leader (46,966).
After taking his career to the next level with the Badgers in 2011, Wilson went on to become the No. 75 overall pick by the Seattle Seahawks. He enjoyed a 10-year career in Seattle before things took a turn with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants.
Overall, Wilson ended his career with a stellar 64.6% completion percentage and a 353-to-114 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He also added 5,568 rushing yards and saw his lone receiving touchdown come in 2016.
