Wisconsin picks up fourth victory over team in top 11 of NET rankings

The Wisconsin Badgers dropped 97 points on a Purdue Boilermakers team that was ranked No. 15 in the country.

Wisconsin’s season has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. Time and time again, the team proves people wrong with massive wins like this one. Still, it sits at just 22-9 (14-6 Big Ten) heading into the Big Ten Tournament.

The Badgers have a few incredible wins on their resume, no doubt, and those have put them in the mix with Arizona, Texas Tech, and Michigan as the only teams in the nation with four wins over top-11 teams.

According to the NET rankings, Purdue was No. 9 coming into this game. Even though the team was far lower in the AP Poll, this statistic only takes the NET rankings into account.

Purdue goes down as the third-best team Wisconsin has taken down this season. No. 11 Michigan State is in fourth place, a team the Badgers destroyed, 92-71, back on February 13. For reference, MSU was ranked No. 10 in the AP Top 25 at the time.

Wisconsin also took down an Illinois squad on February 10 that was No. 5 in the NET. The Badgers won that game on the road in overtime, 92-90.

Obviously, Wisconsin’s most impressive win of the year came at Michigan. The Wolverines were both No. 2 in the NET and AP Poll as the Badgers shocked the world when they came out on top, 91-88.
