The Iowa State women’s basketball program’s offseason of change is continuing.
Longtime assistant coach Latoja Schaben announced on X/Twitter on April 30 that she has left the Cyclones “for a new opportunity.”
Schaben has been with the ISU program for 29 seasons and played for head coach Bill Fennelly while he was at Toledo. During her first season in Ames, she helped propel the Cyclones to the program’s first 25-win season.
Her list of accomplishments includes helping the Cyclones to three Big 12 Tournament titles (2000, 2001, 2023), 23 NCAA Tournament victories, six trips to the Sweet 16 and she has coached in two Elite Eight teams.
