Iowa football lands commitment from 3-star QB Brayden Santibanez

IOWA CITY — Class of 2027 quarterback Brayden Santibanez has committed to Iowa football.

Santibanez, who attends Collierville High School in Tennessee, is a 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite. He is ranked tied for 71st nationally among quarterbacks in the 2027 high school class.

As a junior, Santibanez threw for 1,140 yards with a completion percentage around 66%. He tossed 13 touchdowns to five interceptions. Santibanez also rushed for 321 yards and five touchdowns.

Santibanez’s offer list included Iowa, Iowa State, North Carolina, Kansas State, Maryland, Cincinnati and Boston College. In April, Santibanez visited Iowa and received an offer from the Hawkeyes.

Santibanez, listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, runs a 4.56 40-yard dash, according to his social media.

Santibanez is the lone quarterback in Iowa football’s 2027 high school recruiting class, which is now up to nine commitments.

All members of Iowa’s current quarterback room will have the potential to return to the Hawkeyes after the 2026 season. They include Hank Brown, Jeremy Hecklinski, Jimmy Sullivan, Ryan Fitzgerald and Tradon Bessinger.
