Wisconsin MBB falls in Joe Lunardi's offseason bracketology

As always, the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team has a goal to make the NCAA Tournament.

In Joe Lunardi’s latest offseason Bracketology, 13 Big Ten teams made the cut, which tied the SEC for the most of any conference.

To no surprise, Greg Gard’s squad once again made the tournament. That said, they’ve already fallen a seed.

Auburn, one of Wisconsin’s regular-season opponents, is now projected to be the South’s No. 8 seed, while Wisconsin fell to No. 9.

Falling one spot in an offseason bracketology isn’t the end of the world, especially knowing the Badgers lost both Nick Boyd and John Blackwell. Their roster is going to look quite different, but Gard did a great job in the portal, and there are a few incoming freshmen who should make an immediate difference.

In this scenario, should Wisconsin survive Auburn, they’d be tasked with playing No. 1 Duke in Charlotte.
