Just days after the Green Bay Packers’ organized team activities wrap up, safety Evan Williams will be going for the ride of his lifetime.
Williams will be in the “Fastest Seat in Sports” before the NTT IndyCar Series XPEL Grand Prix on June 21 at Road America outside Elkhart Lake, the series announced June 17.
The third-year safety will be in the back of a two-seat Indy car on high-speed pace laps around the renowned 4-mile road course in rural Sheboygan County.
Williams, who will ride with retired racer Davey Hamilton, will join a long list of celebrity passengers that includes former NFL great Tom Brady, University of Michigan football coach Kyle Whittingham, music stars Lady Gaga and John Bon Jovi and actors Simu Liu, Channing Tatum and Rudy Pankow.
Williams, 24, was a fourth-round pick of the Packers in 2024 and was named to the Pro Football Writers of America all-rookie team with 47 tackles (30 solo), an interception and a forced fumble. Last season, he had 89 tackles (47 solo), four tackles for loss, a team-high three interceptions and five passes defended in 16 games.
The Fox coverage of the race begins at 1 p.m., with an estimated green flag time of 1:27 p.m. Tickets are available via the Road America website and at the gates.
