After a long-anticipated wait, key details and a true first look at Caitlin Clark’s Nike signature shoes, the Caitlin 1, dropped on Wednesday.
Following some previous hints at what Clark’s Caitlin 1 shoes might look like via Clark’s social media accounts, Nike revealed the signature shoes’ appearance on Wednesday afternoon.
The first colorway available for the Caitlin 1 will be “Racer Blue,” and it will cost $140 for adults, $115 for big kids, and $105 for youth sizes, according to KicksFinder.
Prior to Wednesday’s big release, Clark commented on her signature shoes ahead of the Fever’s Tuesday night date against Toronto.
“First of all, obviously, it’s really, really cool. Like, I probably was never a kid that grew up thinking that this was gonna be in the cards for me.. For myself to be able to have a signature shoe and for young boys and young girls to be able to hopefully want to wear it and be able to put it on and dream.
“You don’t have to be a basketball player, but dream to achieve whatever you want. I think that’s what I hope people feel when they put the shoe on, and also that it’s really comfortable and it looks pretty cool, too, but that it kind of gives them a superpower and they feel like they can express themselves through the shoe,” Clark said.
Like her previous Kobe 6 Protro PE collaborations, fans will need to act fast to secure a pair, as Nike will likely sell out of the shoe almost instantly upon the release of the global superstar’s first signature shoe.
“This is like your debut album, you want it to be killer,” Clark told ESPN.
Clark becomes the fifth active WNBA player to currently have her own signature shoe with a major brand, joining Angel Reese (Reebok), Breanna Stewart (Puma), Sabrina Ionescu (Nike) and A’ja Wilson (Nike).
