The Green Bay Packers are two days removed from a fitting but unsatisfying 40-40 tie with the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, and Matt LaFleur’s team is now entering the much-needed Week 5 bye with a 2-1-1 record.
It’s not a normal week because of the bye. LaFleur didn’t speak to the media on Monday, but he will on Tuesday, providing an opportunity to look back on the primetime tie, get updates on injuries and look ahead to the bye and the Cincinnati Bengals coming out of the bye.
Live updates for the Packers on Tuesday, Sept. 30:
Matt LaFleur press conference
The Packers coach answering questions from the media on Tuesday:
Devonte Wyatt is week to week
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt will be week to week with the knee injury he suffered in the first half against the Cowboys.
Brandon McManus is fine
LaFleur said veteran kicker Brandon McManus is “fine” despite getting banged up while making a tackle on a kickoff return late on Sunday night.
Packers discussing Watson’s return
LaFleur said the Packers are still determining if they will open Christian Watson’s practice window coming out of the bye week. Watson opened the season on the PUP list while recovering from knee surgery but is eligible now to begin practicing. It’s possible he could be back on the practice field with the Packers as soon as next Monday.
Roster move
The Packers released rookie offensive tackle Brant Banks on Tuesday. He was signed from the practice squad last week to provide depth along the offensive line with Zach Tom, Anthony Belton and Aaron Banks all injured. If he clears waivers, Banks will almost certainly return on the practice squad by Thursday. The Packers have several players eligible to come off the PUP list or injured reserve, including Christian Watson, MarShawn Lloyd and Collin Oliver.

What’s to come
The Packers get the week off to rest and heal after four games. Coming out of the bye, the Packers will host the Cincinnati Bengals at Lambeau Field on Sunday, Oct. 12. From there, the Packers go on the road to play the Arizona Cardinals (Sunday, Oct. 19) and Pittsburgh Steelers (“Sunday Night Football” on Oct. 26) in back to back weeks.
