Motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle crash May 3 in town of Buena Vista

BUENA VISTA − A 24-year-old Almond man is dead after the motorcycle he was operating was struck by a pickup truck in Portage County.

The crash happened about 10:24 a.m. Sunday, May 3 at the intersection of Portage County BB and Bluff Road in the town of Buena Vista. According to a news release from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, the initial investigation found that a pickup truck traveling west on Portage County N failed to yield from a stop sign and hit a motorcycle that was traveling south on Portage County BB.

The operator of the motorcycle died at the scene, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Plover Ambulance, Almond Rescue, Almond EMR, Bancroft Rescue, Bancroft EMR, the Portage County Medical Examiner’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
