A Milwaukee police officer was injured after being bitten by a dog on the city’s far northwest side on May 25, according to a city fire official.
The injuries were minor, said Nickolas Trost, battalion chief for the Milwaukee Fire Department 7th Battalion – which responded to the incident.
Police responded to a loose animals complaint around 2 p.m. in the 6300 block of North 103rd Street, according to the department’s call for service website.
An officer was bit while attempting to snare a dog, with two officers then firing their weapons and striking two dogs, a department statement said.
The officer, a 51-year-old male, was transported to a hospital for medical treatment, the statement said.
Both dogs were transported for medical treatment, it said.
