WINNECONNE – Winneconne is set to welcome a new beach house and pavilion this fall as part of the first phase of the Marble Park Reimagined Community Project.
The village of Winneconne and the Winneconne Area Community Foundation made the announcement in a news release ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony May 6 at Marble Park.
“This is a transformative investment in our community,” wrote village of Winneconne Administrator Logan Fuller in the release.
Miron Construction Co. will be donating the beach house and pavilion as part of the $2.55 million project, which is also set to include new playground equipment, additional basketball and pickleball courts and a shaded seating area.
“We are deeply thankful to Miron for stepping forward to help reimagine this park for future generations, setting an example of the kind of partnership that strengthens and shapes our community’s future,” Fuller said.
Plans to construct the man-made lake were first conceptualized in 1967 before the 43.5-acre Marble Park was eventually finished just a year later.
“Winneconne has always held a special place in our family’s heart,” said Miron Executive Chairman David Voss, whose father served as the park’s initial project manager. “Miron is proud to invest in the park’s future and the families it serves.”
