Former Marquette star Kam Jones traded from Pacers to Bulls

Former Marquette men’s basketball star Kam Jones will have a new home for his second NBA season.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Indiana Pacers traded the 6-foot-4 guard to the Chicago Bulls for Braden Smith, who was selected with the 38th pick in the NBA draft.

Interestingly, Jones was the 38th pick in last year’s draft.

Jones and Smith squared off against each other three times when Jones was at MU and Smith at Purdue. Jones’ best game with the Golden Eagles came against the Boilermakers when he had a triple-double on Nov. 19, 2024.

Jones’ rookie season with the Pacers was delayed by a back injury, and he didn’t make his NBA debut until Dec. 22. He ended up playing in 37 games, averaging 4.4 points and 3.2 assists per game.
