Brewers announce alumni game for July. Here's who's expected to play

One year after they swung for the fences, Milwaukee Brewers legends are coming back for more fun.

The Brewers announced a postgame Alumni Legends Game after the July 24 tilt with the Colorado Rockies, part of the team’s ongoing celebration of American Family Field’s 25th anniversary. Several former Brewers are expected to take part, including Ryan Braun, Geoff Jenkins, Ben Sheets, Yovani Gallardo and Mike Moustakas.

The team’s graphic for the occasion also includes Jeremy Jeffress and Jonathan Lucroy.

The Brewers plan to serve $2.50 draft beers and $2.50 brats until the first pitch, plus alumni photo opportunities and a 25% discount on items at Brewers merchandise areas.

Fans who purchase the team’s special 25th anniversary theme night ticket package will get their hands on a Legends Game bowling shirt among other perks, including photo opportunities around the ballpark.

The celebration will come almost exactly one year to the day of the team’s alumni home-run derby in 2025, a spirited and well-attended showcase won by Keon Broxton.

CC Sabathia will enter Wall of Honor on Friday

Speaking of Brewers alumni, CC Sabathia will be on hand Friday, May 8 when the Brewers open a homestand fittingly against the New York Yankees, the team with whom Sabathia spent the final 11 seasons of his Hall of Fame career.

The Brewers will be inducting both Sabathia and Dave Parker into the Brewers Wall of Honor. Sabathia, of course, was acquired by the Brewers in 2008 and spent a half-season carving up the National League en route to leading his team to its first playoff appearance in 26 years.

Both Sabathia and the late Parker, who was an all-star in his lone season with Milwaukee (1990), merit recognition on the Wall of Honor by virtue of their recent induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Wall of Honor typically recognizes Brewers players who reach certain career statistical benchmarks.

Sabathia will throw out the ceremonial first pitch as part of the team’s pregame program.
