Body of boater missing since April recovered by Lake Delton police, fire departments; man identified as Francesco Di Filippo

The Wisconsin Dells Police Department announced that the body of a boater, missing since April 3, was recovered on Sunday, June 29.

The Lake Delton Police Department and Delton Fire Department responded to a report from Newport Beach at 2:13 p.m. about a deceased individual in the water. They later identified the individual as Francesco Di Filippo based on the clothing they found.

In a Facebook post, the Wisconsin Dells Police Department said: “The Wisconsin Dells Police Department sends its deepest condolences to the Di Filippo/Schultz family. While tragic, we hope that the recovery of Francesco provides a measure of closure for them.”
