Atlanta Falcons sign Wisconsin offensive lineman as UDFA

Wisconsin offensive tackle Riley Mahlman landed an NFL opportunity after the draft, signing with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent, according to Aaron Wilson. The move extends the Badgers’ long-running pipeline of offensive linemen to the pros.

Mahlman left Madison as a three-year starter, a resume that put him on every opponent’s scouting report and gave him a chance to compete at the next level. Wisconsin leaned on him as a steady presence in the trenches, handling week-to-week adjustments, Big Ten fronts, and the grind of a full season, which often carries real value in an NFL camp, especially for linemen fighting for roster spots.

For the Badgers, Mahlman’s signing fit the program’s long-running identity: develop linemen, then watch them earn shots on Sundays. Even without draft status attached, a three-year starter from Wisconsin typically arrives with a foundation in technique and toughness, and Mahlman now has the chance to prove he belongs against NFL edge rushers in Atlanta’s offseason program.

Mahlman’s path also underscores the reality of the undrafted route. He will need to win reps quickly and show the Falcons he can hold up at tackle depth, all while learning a new playbook and adjusting to the speed of pro camp.
