Third time’s the charm for Andrew Fischer.
After one ball and one strike in his first at-bat in Biloxi, Fischer hammered the third pitch he ever faced as a Shucker over the fence in right field in what ended as a 9-4 loss to the Columbus Clingstones.
Called up from the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on June 14 to Class AA Biloxi, Fischer became the first member of the Brewers 2025 draft class to reach Double-A. And, he wasted no time showing his new team what he can do at the plate.
Hit bombs.
He finished the game 1-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
Fischer, the 20th overall pick in the 2025 draft, ended his time in the Midwest League with 20 home runs, the most in a season by a Brewers High-A player since at least 2006. The third baseman led the league in home runs (20) and OPS (1.118), and was second in RBIs (50).
Fischer, 22, is regarded as the No. 6 prospect in the Brewers’ system by MLB Pipeline.
