Along with its Waukesha location, Pet World in Menomonee Falls is closing.
Wisconsin-based Pet World, also referred to as Pet World Warehouse Outlet, sells pets, pet supplies, toys and pet products.
A sign on the door of the business at N84W15700 Appleton Ave. indicated the store was closing.
The reasons for the closure were not disclosed, but an employee who answered the phone Nov. 17 confirmed the Menomonee Falls location is closing, although a closing date has not been set.
Pet World’s Waukesha location at 2410 E. Moreland Blvd. was recently sold to a new Tennessee-based company, FUNWAUK RE LLC, and plans to close, according to previous reporting from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
State real estate records do not indicate any sale of Pet World’s Menomonee Falls building.
According to Pet World’s website, it has other locations in Greenfield (5415 S. 27th St.) and West Allis (2984 S. 108th St.). The store employees who answered the phone at both locations said these locations do not plan on closing.
However, the Madison location, 2148 W. Beltline Highway, has permanently closed, according to Google.
Pet World was founded in 1978, according to its website.
