“It was a true team effort,” Bedford coach Holly Scheffer said. “We knew we had a chance, but we did not have any wiggle room for dropping places or DQs.  We knew it was going to be close. Everyone did a great job of meeting one of our goals in each race.”

Samantha Smith was second in the 100-yard butterfly and third in the 50-yard freestyle to lead the Mules.

Lilly Landolt took sconed in the 500 free and fourth in the 200 free.

Kendra Bland snared third in the 100 backstroke.

Other key performances came from Kat Wachowiak, Sydnee Knaggs. Lily Johnson, Sydney Ridner, Lindsey Andrews, Addison Brecht, Ashlyn Williams, Annabelle James, Taylor Sadoski, Izzy Rischman and Camille Hansen.

“It was a fun moral booster at the end of the season and a great way to finish up a very solid season of hard work, team and improvement,” Scheffer said. “The team was very close this year. There were lots of tears at the end of the meet – happy and sad.”
