Deputies responded to reports of a crash involving two motorcycles at 8:27 p.m. July 25 on Manitowoc County G, north of Taus Road, in the town of Franklin.

The investigation indicates that Rueckl and Cody Zahn, 30, of Brillion, were northbound on County G where Rueckl lost control of his motorcycle, which caused Zahn to lose control of his.

Rueckl sustained fatal injuries and died, while Zahn suffered significant injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Neither man was wearing a helmet.

Alcohol and speed were factors in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting a full reconstruction of the crash.
