22-year-old Fond du Lac man dies in fiery crash, police investigating

FOND DU LAC – A 22-year-old Fond du Lac man has died after a single-vehicle crash Friday, June 20, Fond du Lac Police Department said.

At about 3 a.m., officers responded with Fond du Lac Fire Rescue to the intersection of South National Avenue and Deneveu Circle to an SUV fully engulfed in flames.

Fire personnel quickly brought the fire under control and found the man in the driver’s seat as the sole occupant.

The man, whose name was not released, had succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A detective is leading the investigation into the incident and the circumstances surrounding it.

South National Avenue between Glenwood Drive and Pheasant Drive closed for the morning as the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office assisted with crash reconstruction.
