A Lena teen is dead following a Jan. 13 snowmobile crash in Lena, according to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office.
At 7:32 p.m. Jan. 13, the Oconto County dispatch center was notified of a snowmobile crash, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
A preliminary investigation found the 15 year-old boy operating the snowmobile was driving east on Arndt Road on private property. It appears the teen lost control of the snowmobile, which was found on its side in a ditch, the release said.
Life-saving measures were performed and the teen was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The accident is still being investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the sheriff’s office and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
