1 killed in Walker's Point crash; driver suspected of OWI, police say

A 47 year-old died in an early morning crash in Walker’s Point on Sunday, June 21, Milwaukee Police said.

At around 1:15 a.m., a 24-year-old driving along the 1100 block of West Greenfield Avenue crossed the roadway, striking the victim’s vehicle, police reported. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and died on scene.

Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of impaired driving. MPD did not immediately respond to a request for further information about the incident.

Police say charges against the suspect will be referred to the Milwaukee District Attorney’s Office.

As of June 17, MPD data indicates that 14 people have died in vehicle crashes in 2026.
