After multiple weeks of voting, readers chose the boys and girls Happy State Bank Fan Favorite High School Athletes of the Year.
Now readers will have a chance to select a Happy State Bank boys and girls team of the year from three dozen teams included because of their success during the 2025-26 school year.
Voting is broken down over multiple weeks beginning July 13 and will run Monday through Thursday each week.
The top 16 teams after this week will advance to the next week of voting.
At the end of voting, the top boys team and top girls team will be anointed the Happy State Bank Fan Favorite Teams of the Year.
Voting totals reset each week.
The teams represent schools of every size across the area.

2025-26 Team of the Year Nominees
• Canyon boys cross country — Captured the Class 4A boys state championship, led by Domenic San Miguel and Noah Cooper.
• Gruver boys cross country — Finished third in Class 2A team standings.
• Canyon girls cross country — Won the Class 4A girls state championship, paced by Addyson Bristow and Presli Pool.
• Randall girls cross country — Finished second in the Class 4A girls team standings, led by Brooke French and Rebel Rea.
• Gruver girls cross country — Finished second in the Class 2A team standings.
• Canyon team tennis — Finished second in Class 4A going 26-3 on the season.
• Tascosa team tennis — The Rebels advanced to the regional semifinals in Class 5A.
• Randall volleyball — The Raiders (24-14) advanced to the Class 4A DII regional final before falling to eventual state champion Eagle Mountain.
• Bushland volleyball — The Falcons (38-9) finished as state runner up in Class 3A Division I.
• West Plains football — The Wolves went 12-2 and advanced to the Class 4A Division I regional final before falling to eventual state champion Stephenville.
• West Texas football — The Comanches (14-1) advanced to the Class 2A Division I state semifinals.
• Gruver football — The Greyhounds (12-3) avenged a regular season loss to Stratford by beating the Elks in the playoffs, advancing to the Class 2A Division II state semifinals.
• Tascosa girls basketball — The Rebels went 32-4 and advanced to the Class 5A Division I regional final.
• Canyon girls basketball — The Eagles (30-3) advanced to the Class 4A Division I regional final, falling to eventual state champion Decatur.
• Panhandle girls basketball — The Ettes went 38-1 and won the Class 2A Division I state championship.
• Gruver girls basketball — Went 30-6 and advanced to the state semifinals in Class 2A Division II.
• Nazareth girls basketball — Naz went 32-6 and won the state championship in Class 1A Division II.
• West Plains boys basketball — The Wolves went 31-5 and advanced to the state semifinal in Class 4A Division I.
• Panhandle boys basketball — Panhandle went 27-6 and won the Class 2A Division I state championship.
• Gruver boys basketball — The Greyhounds finished 23-1 and advanced to the Class 2A Division II state semifinals.
• Valley boys basketball — The Patriots (30-4) won the Class 1A Division I state championship.
• Palo Duro girls wrestling — Finished ninth in the team standings at the UIL State Meet.
• Randall boys wrestling — Finished seventh in the team standings at the UIL State Meet.
• Amarillo High boys swimming — The Sandies finished 17th in the Class 5A team standings at the UIL State Meet.
• West Plains baseball — The Wolves finished 31-10 and advanced to the Class 4A Division I state semifinals, falling to eventual champion Pleasant Grove.
• Gruver baseball — The Greyhounds advanced to the regional final before falling to state finalist Burton.
• Amarillo High girls golf — AHS finished sixth in the 5A team standings at the state tournament.
• Canyon girls golf — Canyon finished fifth in the 4A team standings at the state tournament.
• Bushland girls golf — Bushland finished sixth in the 3A team standings at the state tournament.
• Wildorado boys golf — Wildorado finished second in the 1A team standings at the state tournament.
• Dumas softball — Dumas (38-4-1) advanced to the state semifinals in Class 4A Division I.
• Floydada softball — Advanced to the regional final in Class 2A Division I.
• Sundown softball — Finished as state runner up in Class 2A Division II.
• Panhandle girls track — Finished second in Class 2A as a team at the UIL State meet.
• Canyon girls track — Tied for the Class 4A state championship at the UIL State meet.
• Canyon boys track — Won the Class 4A state championship at the UIL State meet.
