Trump Accounts has now launched an app, available in app stores nationwide, according to the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The app will be the main interface and allows users to sign up and receive updates ahead of the program’s official launch set for July 4, 2026, according to a May 28 news release.
“The Trump Accounts app delivers a simple, secure way for households to begin engaging with a program designed to build long-term financial strength from day one,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Parents and legal guardians who have already signed their children up for Trump Accounts by submitting IRS Form 4547 will begin receiving emails with instructions to complete the account setup process. Activation e-mails for these families will be sent out in phases between now and July 4, 2026, the news release states.
More than 4 million children had signed up for the Trump Accounts as of April – and a million of those will receive a $1,000 contribution, according to the Internal Revenue Service
The account features a pilot program contribution of $1,000 for children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, and who are U.S. citizens with a valid Social Security number.

While they will not receive the initial $1,000 seed from Treasury, there are three other channels for funding Trump Accounts: first, through the donations of parents, friends, and employers; second, through the generous donations of philanthropic organizations; and third, through donations from state governments.
