The Texas A&M Aggies already have five five-star prospects committed in their 2027 recruiting class, and Mike Elko is pushing for No. 6. Joshua Dobson, a five-star cornerback, revealed on Monday that he will be making his commitment on July 1.
Dobson is set to decide between the Aggies, Auburn Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, and South Carolina Gamecocks. He is from Cornelius, North Carolina, and has been a key Texas A&M target for nearly two years, with them extending him a scholarship offer in September of 2024.
He has officially visited all four of his finalists and will be a massive addition for whichever program he picks. Dobson is ranked as the No. 11 overall player and No. 3 cornerback in the Rivals industry ranking. He is the highest-rated uncommitted defensive player and could give Texas A&M one of the best recruiting classes ever.
If Dobson picks the Aggies, they would have six five-stars committed, landing one at offensive tackle, safety, edge, interior offensive line, linebacker, and cornerback. The Miami Hurricanes have the second-most five-star commits with three.
Texas A&M has arguably already built the best defensive back recruiting class in the country, with Dobson’s potential addition leaving no doubt. Five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, four-star safety JayQuan Snell, four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, three-star cornerback Hakim Frampton, and three-star athletes Loia Valade and Errol Kerns give them a deep and talented haul.
