After a 7-0 blowout over Baylor in the quarterfinals, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders are headed to the Big 12 Softball Tournament semifinals in Oklahoma City. Fresh off their Big 12 regular-season title, the Red Raiders boosted their record to 51-5 thanks to another elite performance from ace NiJaree Canady and a well-rounded offensive effort. As the top seed after going 21-3 in conference play, they will now take on No. 5 Kansas in Friday’s semifinal.
NiJaree Canady continues to anchor one of the nation’s best pitching rotations, finishing five innings on Thursday. She allowed just one hit, striking out six as she surpassed 200 strikeouts for the fourth consecutive season. Kaitlyn Terry came in as relief, throwing a perfect 1.2 innings before Samantha Lincoln recorded the final out with just two pitches to complete the shutout over the Bears.

The Lady Raider recorded a total of 10 hits, led by Mia Williams, who had two home runs and two RBI. She also set a new program record for home runs with 22 and RBI (72) in a single season. Jackie Lis knocked out a three-run homer in the bottom of the third, which was her 16th of the season. Kaitlyn Terry also recorded an RBI triple, and Hailey Toney got a sac-fly to round out the runs for the team.
