Texas Tech softball adds Utah's top pitcher through transfer portal

Utah’s top pitcher, Hailey Maestretti, committed to the Red Raiders on Wednesday, as she announced on Instagram. Maestretti has two years of eligibility and will be a junior during the 2027 season.

Maestretti, a lefty, was one of the few pitchers to stifle the Texas Tech offense during the 2026 season, pitching a complete-game effort in the Utes’ win. She also had a pair of victories over Arizona late in the season.

Mestretti went 13-8 on the season with a 2.53 ERA, pitching 149.1 innings and allowing just 8 home runs across 34 appearances in the circle.
