If the name of the game in college football has become finding ways to bring in new streams of revenue, there’s arguably no team doing it better than the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
On Friday morning, a landmark deal was announced between Texas Tech and Galaxy, a global leader in data center infrastructure and digital assets, selling the naming rights to the Red Raiders’ stadium for a whopping $75 million over 15 years.
Now, what was previously known as Jones AT&T Stadium will be rebranded Galaxy Stadium starting in 2026.
“We’re pleased to welcome Galaxy as the new naming rights partner of our football stadium,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. “When I visit with alumni across the country, the conversation almost always turns to their favorite memories inside our stadium. We look forward to creating many more of those moments together in Galaxy Stadium, one of the premier home-field environments in college football. This long-term partnership with Galaxy will have a lasting impact on Texas Tech Athletics.”
This new revenue source will not only be useful to the University for facility improvements, but it will also add to the pool for Texas Tech’s name, image, and likeness resources, which has a chance to be the most abundant in the nation going forward.
Galaxy’s presence and branding will extend across Red Raider Football as well as men’s and women’s basketball through digital, social, and in-game features.
