Texas Tech alum opens ProCare Injury Specialists. Here's how it makes healing easier

When he was 19 years old, he dreamed of opening 50 clinics and two hospitals. Now, the Texas Tech alumnus is coming home with his expanding medical business: ProCare Injury Specialists.

ProCare Injury Specialists, 2318 50th St., opened on March 17 and is one of the newest openings for the company, founded by Dr. Neil Boecking. The company aims to help injured Texans navigate recovery from vehicle accidents by treating them like family.

“Our staff is special,” said Morgan Polson, business development at Lubbock’s location. “Everyone cares about how to make things better, especially in a field that didn’t exist in Lubbock. You can see how much they care. We team up to heal up.”

The ProCare team has neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, pain management, doctors, neurologists, counseling, chiropractic and active rehab services in-house.

“We really have good coverage for high quality care for patients that have multiple needs, everything from whiplash or cervical sprains, strains, to broken bones, to traumatic brain injury,” Boecking said. “What I have found is that in the personal injury realm, it’s almost like we’re sticking up for the little guy, because it is difficult to navigate the process. A lot of times, it’s very hard to get care after motor vehicle accidents, even when you have your own insurance and it creates this huge inconvenience because in Texas you have to have a car, then you are in an accident and all of a sudden, you don’t have one.”

ProCare attempts to ease the process by offering telemedicine, allowing patients to fill out forms online, helping provide transportation, and having an intake team that can begin a patient’s care on the same day they reach out.

“We really provide any care that you would need, once you are released from an emergency room or hospital,” Boecking said. “We developed this niche, and so our future plan is to continue to help injured Texans, and expand throughout the state of Texas.”

ProCare will have 14 locations across Texas by the end of 2025. This includes the already open locations in Austin, Lubbock and San Antonio, along with upcoming locations in Waco and Temple.

“Being a seventh generation Texan, it’s about doing the right thing for the right reasons, and being honest and straightforward with everything you do along the way,” Boecking said. “I think that has really helped us grow this company.”

Boecking decided to specialize in chiropractic care in high school, after a chiropractor helped him recover from sports-related injuries. At 19 years old, he had a goal of opening 50 multi-disciplinary clinics and two hospitals. When he came to Lubbock, to attend Texas Tech, he called area chiropractors to ask if they had any openings.

Dr. Joel Coolbaugh hired Boecking at Coolbaugh Chiropractic.

“He took me under his wing and taught me how to be successful within the medical arena,” Boecking said. “Working with him was great, because it helped me define my path.”

Boecking opened the first ProCare in Austin in 2004, and though that initial goal of 50 clinics has changed, his company will have 14 locations in Texas by the end of the year. Lubbock is the latest one, and the location has special meaning to Boecking.

When Boecking saw that Coolbaugh Chiropractic was closing, he called and asked about the space. On March 17, ProCare opened in the former space of the doctor who mentored Boecking.

“It all kind of came full circle, to come into this business in this space,” Boecking said. “We’re kind of paying it forward. It’s cool being back in Lubbock. I just like being back out in West Texas. People are more friendly here.”

ProCare’s website is procareinjury.com. The organization can also be found on Facebook, Indeed and Instagram. The Lubbock location is hiring through Indeed.
