The 2026 high school baseball season was another year filled with outstanding individual and team performances from around the West Texas, Concho Valley and San Angelo areas.

Wall, Coahoma, Eldorado, Goldthwaite, Forsan, Christoval and Menard all made trips to the second round of the playoffs. The Wall Hawks traveled the furthest of any local team making the Class 3A state semifinal.

The conclusion of another season means another All-West Texas high school baseball team from the San Angelo Standard-Times.

Like other teams, the All-West Texas baseball team will include superlatives, three teams and an honorable mentions section. Selections are based on nominations by area coaches.

Most Valuable Player

Kellan Oliver, sr., Wall, P/LF

Oliver, an Odessa College signee, was the District 6-3A MVP, a 3A all-state tournament team selection and made the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state elite team. In his senior season, he hit for a .453 average with a .504 on-base percentage, a 1.196 on-base plus slugging, nine doubles, five triples, three home runs, 51 RBIs, 39 runs scored, 16 stolen bases and had a .956 fielding percentage. He also stepped up as the state semifinalists pitching ace tabbing a 9-1 record with a 1.53 ERA in 55 innings with 82 strikeouts — aptly fitting his “KO” nickname. He had plenty of big moments for the Hawks during his four-year varsity career, including a 2025 state championship and numerous gutsy performances on the mound.

Balmos was the District 28-2A Newcomer of the Year after hitting .458 with a .527 OBP, five doubles and 14 runs. He was crucial to the Punchers’ success on the mound where he tossed 31 innings, recording a 5-1 record with a 0.92 ERA and 55 strikeouts.

Coach of the Year

Jeremy Gordon, Wall
