Pride Month is here, and the El Paso Sun City Pride nonprofit organization is kicking off the month with some events this weekend. Most notably, there’s a Pride Rodeo Market on Friday and two pageants to attend.
Over at the El Paso Chihuahuas, expect fun promotions, including Star Wars Night on Saturday, June 6.
On Sunday, June 7, enjoy mariachi music at Speaking Rock Casino all day.

El Paso Sun City Pride events
El Paso Sun City Pride is planning a full month of activities with entertainers, artists and lots of fun. For this week, there are four events:
El Paso Chihuahuas promotions
The Chihuahuas are back in Southwest University Park this week for a six-game set with the Houston Astros’ affiliate, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. The highlights are an appearance by actor Christopher McDonald, who played the villain Shooter McGavin in Happy Gilmore, on Thursday, June 4 and Star Wars night on Saturday, June 6.
McDonald will be available for photos and autographs on the concourse. Fans can also purchase a private pre-game meet-and-greet for $75, including a personal interaction with McDonald before gates open. Space is limited.

Touch Bar presents Jane Don’t
Touch Bar kicks off Pride Month with RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18 queen Jane Don’t on Saturday, June 6 at 11395 James Watt Drive, Suite A.
Doors open at 8 p.m. Meet-and-greet is at 10 p.m. Showtime is at 11 p.m. General admission tickets are $35 plus fees, available at events.eventgroove.com
5th Annual Cancer Survivor Line Dance celebration
In honor of National Cancer Survivor Month, Cielo Vista Mall has teamed up with the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation (RGCF) to host the 5th annual Cancer Survivor Line Dance Celebration from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, on the lower level JCPenney Court. The “give cancer the boot” with a 50s twist theme event will feature line dancing, prizes, art exhibits and festivities celebrating and recognizing local cancer survivors.
Mariachis at Speaking Rock
Enjoy a full day of mariachi performances from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 7 at Speaking Rock Casino, 122 S. Old Pueblo Road. Featured mariachis are Mariachi Balas De Plata and Mariachi Femenil Flores Mexicanas.
