Successful New Mexico horse trainer Todd Fincher — at top trainer at Sunland Park near El Paso — will have his first-ever starter in the Preakness Stakes.
Fincher will saddle The Hell We Did in the 151st running of the Preakness on Saturday, May 16, at Laurel Park in Maryland. There is scheduled to be 14 horses in the race.
The Preakness Stakes is the second leg in the thoroughbred Triple Crown, between the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes.
Golden Tempo won the 2026 Kentucky Derby on May 2, but will not run in the Preakness Stakes.
