With more spots to fill in the 2027 class, the Texas Longhorns have been busy on the recruiting trail. On Friday, they welcomed elite wide receiver Monshun Sales to campus for a visit. The Indianapolis native is one of the best players still on the board and would provide the Texas offense with a major boost.
As the Longhorns look to secure a commitment from Sales they do face completion. He has received offers from various schools including Indiana, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss. That list should continue to grow the longer that Miles stays on the market.
During his high school career, Sales has shown a talent for frustrating defensive coordinators. The Longhorns recruiting target finished the 2025 campaign with 794 receiving yards on 37 catches. He averaged 21.5 yards per catch and found the end zone nine times. With Sales serving as a key piece on offense, Lawrence North High went 7-3 and reached the Indiana 6A playoffs.
Due to his stellar play, Sales has caught the eyes of scouts. Currently, he is ranked as the 13th best player in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the best wide receiver in his class and the best player from Indiana. That is partly why some of the top teams in the nation are interested in his services.
This weekend, Steve Sarkisian and his staff will have a chance to show Sales why his future should include a stint in the Forty Acres. At the moment, the Longhorns 2027 class includes two five-star recruits in John Meredith III and Easton Royal. They are part of a group ranked sixth in the nation.
Over the next few weeks, Sales will be a player to watch as he continues to weigh his options and decide where to begin his college career.
