El Paso weekend picks: Wild West Food, Mango del Sol, Craft Beer Fest among things to do

Festivalgoers will have plenty of choices in fun beer, music, and food events this weekend.

The Sun City Craft Beer Festival returns Saturday, June 21, in Downtown El Paso, along with the first of its kind, the Mango del Sol Festival, a day-long celebration at Mango Cannabis Sunland Park on Sunday, June 22.

DeadBeach Brewery in Central El Paso also will have its Wild West Food Fest on Saturday, June 21, offering both tasty beers and more than 35 food and retail vendors. There will be a variety of food options, including street tacos, birria, scalloped potatoes, kabobs, Indian, German, Mexican, soul food, and American cuisine, all in one place.

Las Cruces also will be having a Juneteenth Festival this weekend.

Elmont hosts Josh Abbott Band

The Elmont, located at 240 W Castellano Drive, Suite B, will kick off summer with a performance by country music artist Josh Abbott Band on Friday, June 20.

Concertgoers can take advantage of The Elmont’s resort-style amenities, including complimentary towel service, parking, food and drink specials, and the chance to cool off in the pool while enjoying the show. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Pride Parade 2025

The lively annual Pride Parade 2025 will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at City Hall and end at Houston Park, 900 Montana Ave. After the parade, Houston Park will host a family-friendly post-parade picnic featuring free music, food, non-alcoholic drinks, and drag performances. Sun City Craft Beer Festival 2025

The Sun City Craft Beer Festival 2025, the largest craft beer festival in El Paso, returns Saturday. June 21 at the El Paso convention center. This year’s festival will feature a new format, starting later in the day to keep guests cool and comfortable. The event will start at 5 p.m. with indoor beer sampling and live entertainment, followed by the Beerlympics at 7:30 p.m. and culminating with Aurellia’s Beer Bash from 8 to 10 p.m.

Mango Del Sol festival

Mango Cannabis is gearing up for its first music festival, Mango de Sol, on Sunday, June 22, at the open lot of the dispensary. The festival will be headlined by hip-hop artists That Mexican OT & OhGeezy, Paul Wall, Baby Bash, and Play-N-Skillz. Opening performances will be El Paso’s own Krystall Poppin, Natalie, Coyote and El Dusty.

There will be comedic performances and an art exhibit. It will be a day-long celebration of music and food, with more than 2,000 exclusive goodie bags handed out. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mango Cannabis Sunland Park, with the music festival commencing at 2 p.m. and concluding at 10:45 p.m.

Customers will be granted entry to the festival upon purchasing a product for $50 or more, or they can purchase a ticket via MangoDelSol.com, which will redirect to HoldMyTicket.com. Tickets are per person and non-transferable. The event is 21+.

Starr Western Wear Rodeo 2025

The Starr Western Wear Rodeo returns June 20-22 at the El Paso County Coliseum. Show times will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $71 plus fees, available at tickets-center.com

Juneteenth Jazz Arts Festival in Las Cruces

Las Cruces’ Footprints group will round out this year’s Juneteenth celebration in Las Cruces with a performance on Sunday, June 22, at the Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main St. in Las Cruces. Internationally known jazz bassist Nat Reeves will take the stage as the festival’s special guest. Free.

Wild West Food Fest

The Wild West Food Fest is taking place from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at DeadBeach Brewery, 3200 Durazno Ave. There will be more than 35 food and retail vendors surrounding DeadBeach. Try food from DeadBeach Brewery, Valentine’s Eatery Tragadero, Backyard Pizza Co, Koko’s Kocina and many more. Free admission.

DeadBeach will be featuring canned cores on the street, a guest beer bar, and seasonal draft pours inside the tavern. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for guests. The festival will be operating on food fest tickets. Tickets will be priced at $2 each and can be redeemed at the different food and drink stands. Menus average 2-5 tickets per dish.

The food fest will feature live DJs all day long, live BBQ demonstrations by Bushmaster BBQ, a kids’ space from 5 to 10 p.m., and more.
