5 things to do in the Amarillo area over June 18-21 weekend

With the Route 66 centennial festivities now in the rearview mirror for the Amarillo area, things are calming down a little bit, event wise — but there’s still a bunch going on and summer in full swing.

Western related events return to the fairgrounds and downtown Amarillo with two competitions; a notable touring act is taking the stage at the Globe-News Center; and Juneteenth events are marked with a parade and daylong celebration.
