Texas A&M’s 2026 wide receiver room now features Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton, who adds size on the outside and an instant red zone upgrade for quarterback Marcel Reed, who enters his redshirt junior season after throwing for a career-high 3,169 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions last season. On paper, this looks like one of the top WR rotations in the country.
Led by junior Mario Craver, who reeled in a career-high 917 yards and four touchdowns after transferring from Mississippi State before the 2025 season, Texas A&M’s offense should at least match last season’s scoring effort, while new OC Holmon Wiggins will have a smoother transition with a veteran quarterback and reliable receiving options.
After KC Concepcion was selected 24th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft, Craver quickly became one of the team’s leaders and is nationally considered one of the top playmakers in the country after showcasing his elite speed, quickness, and NFL-level separation skill set last fall.
On Tuesday, CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford recently ranked his top 26 college football playmakers, made up of a dense list of wide receivers and running backs, while Mario Craver, who deserves to be ranked higher, comes in at No. 23, and likely drops out of the Top 10 conversation due to his lack of size at just 5’9″. Still, Craver is expected to lead the Aggies in targets and receiving yards, given his consistent ability to win at the catch point.
“Mario Craver separates cleanly at all three levels and consistently wins before the catch point. What elevates him into elite territory is his turn-and-go ability. Texas A&M needs a receiver who can sustain drives on money downs after losing KC Concepcion to the NFL, and Craver checks that box. He should get plenty of targets from Marcel Reed after the Aggies signed former Alabama wideout Isaiah Horton to help out.”
Craver’s under-the-radar skill set has made him one of the most exciting players to cover over the last year, and given his ascendance, the expectation is that he’ll head off to the NFL after the 2026 season. Till then, the Mississippi native will be heavily depended on to help lead the Aggies back to the College Football Playoff.
