El Paso police detectives are investigating a death after a body was found along a canal in the Northeast near Transmountain Road, a police spokesman said.
The body was located shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, July 17, after police responded to a call of a water rescue and to check on a person’s well-being in the 9700 block of Girl Scout Way, Officer Adrian Cisneros, a police spokesman, said in a message.
The location is along a canal next to Girl Scout Way behind Skyline Optimist Youth Park.
The death is under investigation by the Crimes Against Persons Unit, police said.
