The Dallas Cowboys were the second-best team on the field when they went to the Denver Broncos and got smashed.
Their offense had an off game, while their defense was its typically terrible self. As a result, Dallas continued its alternation of wins and losses.
The Cowboys backups got some time, as will happen at the end of a lost day, and now they move on to their Monday night game with the type of team they usually beat, the Arizona Cardinals.
Jalen Tolbert
The Dallas Cowboys “depth” receiver Jalen Tolbert caught a touchdown pass from QB2 Joe Milton to conclude Sunday’s scoring, and anytime that combination of words is written, things have either been going very well or very poorly. In this case, Dallas was down many touchdowns, thus matters were going poorly.
Tolbert had two catches for 47 yards, including that 35-yard touchdown from Milton.
Milton Dallas Cowboys
Dallas’ back-up quarterback Joe Milton got to play in some mop up after Dallas was torched by Denver. He went 3-of-4 passing for 58 yards. His quarterback rating was 99.8 which is tremendous for a back-up quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys final score
Denver won 44-24 and it wasn’t that close.
Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl wins
The Cowboys won Super Bowls in 1971 (VI), 1977 (XII), 1992 (XXVII), 1993 (XXVIII) and 1995 (XXX).
Did Dallas Cowboys win today
No.
Matt Eberflus, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator
As of today, Matt Eberflus, who was the head coach of the Chicago Bears until last season, when he was fired for poor performance, is the defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. His job is on the hot seat.
Here is the headline from Sports Illustrated: “What’s it going to take to get Dallas Cowboys DC Matt Eberflus fired?”
Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback
Joe Milton has now played in two games, both when Dallas was getting killed. He played against Chicago and on Sunday against Denver. He is 6-9 passing for 98 yards in those two games.
Denver Broncos vs. Dallas Cowboys
Denver beat Dallas 44-24. The 20-point margin flatters Dallas.
Dallas Cowboys next game
The Cowboys play on Monday Night Football on Nov. 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. The game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington kicks off at 6:15 p.m. MT/7:15 p.m. CT on ABC.
