Cowboys headlines: Diggs, Parsons reunited; news on Kenny Clark future

The new year brings a new era for the Dallas Cowboys, as the team has now lost two of their most well known defenders to the Green Bay Packers. Months after trading away edge Micah Parsons to their NFC foe, cornerback Trevon Diggs was claimed off waivers by Green Bay, reuniting the two friends in Wisconsin.

Dallas will receive some salary cap relief after the Diggs contract was claimed and the reasons on why he was ousted in Dallas have grown to proportions where his antics became more trouble than his worth. The Cowboys will now search for answers while Diggs prepares for a playoff game with his new team. Former Packer Kenny Clark, the defensive lineman the Cowboys received in the Parsons trade, has made it abundantly clear that he wishes to remain in Dallas.

As for the Cowboys’ Week 18 opponent, the New York Giants held several starters out of practice due to a combination of injuries and illnesses. Either way, interim head coach Mike Kafka hopes that his performance will be enough to entice either his current or prospective teams from landing a new gig this offseason.

The race for the NFC North comes with interesting storylines, while Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers mulls his future ahead of the winner-take-all game against the Ravens. Baltimore themselves are uncertain about the playing status of their QB Lamar Jackson who returned to practice. Elsewhere, New England is dealing with two players who have run into off field trouble. Lastly, Philadelphia looks to rest as many starters as possible in the last regular season game of the season in anticipation of the playoffs.
