Season ends for El Paso's Parkland HS softball team in Class 5A playoffs

The 2026 high school softball season has come to an end for the Parkland Matadors in the Texas UIL Class 5A, Division 2 regional semifinals.

Fort Worth Brewer defeated Parkland, 7-5 and 16-6, in the best two-of-three series held in Andrews on May 8-9.

In Friday’s Game 1, Parkland was led by Emily Sanchez with two hits and two RBI, while Faith Avila drove in three runs.

Parkland finishes the season with 32 wins, a share of the District 2-5A title with Del Valle and playoff wins vs. Burges and Wichita Falls Memorial.

Fort Worth Brewer is 23-8 and advances to the regional finals scheduled for May 14-16.
