A preliminary investigation by detectives found that a disturbance with a weapon had occurred and that the man was hit by a vehicle during the incident, the online post said.

Police said the people involved in the disturbance knew each other, and multiple suspects were detained at the scene to be interviewed.

Police had not announced an arrest in connection with the death as of the afternoon of July 8.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 361-886-2840. Anonymous tips can be submitted at 888-TIPS (8477) or online at  888tips.com.
