First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd.: First Presbyterian Church, 3601 Taft Blvd.: At worship this Sunday, the Rev. Kay Atchison from Quanah will be our guest preacher. She will continue the “Summer in the Psalms” series with a sermon from Psalm 23.
She is ordained in ECO and serves under the oversight of our session as a pastor and ministry partner in the Quanah and Chilicothe communities. She fills pulpits, leads Bible studies and ministers to the residents in these areas.
The next session of the study group of ladies in the church, which is centered on biblical heroines in the book “Faithful,” will be held Sunday evening in the home of Tammy Shierry.
The Undercroft will be closed this Thursday and Friday but returns for the last week on July 28 and July 30 from noon until 5 p.m.
The last three Sundays in August, which are Aug. 16, Aug. 23 and Aug. 31 will be “Name Tag Sunday.” We will have name tags and Sharpies available in the narthex on Sundays before worship.
Christian Education for adults will be held between 9:30 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings. Youth Chirstian Education will resume in August.
