The Dallas Cowboys are always in the spotlight for reasons both good and bad, mainly due to the yearly expectations. Quarterback Dak Prescott understands why the buzz around the Cowboys continues every season. Heading into his 11th season, Prescott is now trying to help rookie first-round pick Caleb Downs understand how to manage those expectations. Since becoming a Cowboy, the expectations for Downs have skyrocketed, and there’s no better person to help him than Prescott.
Another player who had lofty expectations but has failed to live up to them is left tackle Tyler Guyton. Guyton now finds himself in a serious camp battle for the starting left tackle spot, and the first step in keeping his spot is his conditioning. Guyton’s biggest problem has been his ability to stay healthy. As he heads into training camp this season, he’ll need to focus more on his conditioning to give himself a better chance of beating his competition, Nate Thomas. Sounds simple enough, but Guyton still can’t get the job done.
