It’s time to take a look at the standout high school performers from the Akron area last week.
Your vote will determine who will be the Akron-Area High School Athlete of the Week for March 30-April 5. We will pick one girl and one boy. Each athlete’s credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 5 p.m. Thursday, April 9. The winners will be announced Friday morning, April 10, on BeaconJournal.com.

Here’s a look at the girls nominees, in alphabetical order:
Greta Bigham, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy lacrosse
Scored four goals in a 15-2 win over Green.
Natalya Bartholomew, Mogadore softball
Pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk, throwing 60 strikes in 76 pitches, in a 1-0 win over Minerva.
Payton Klockenga, Manchester softball
Pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts and no walks in an 8-0 win over Fairless.
Cassidy Piotrowski, Ellet softball
Collected a home run, a triple and a double in a 23-0 win over Garfield.
Gia Vrona, Walsh Jesuit softball
Had a home run, a triple, a single and three RBIs in a 15-4 win over Perry.
Here’s a look at the boys nominees, in alphabetical order:
Joseph Filisky, Nordonia track and field
Won the 110- (14.73 seconds) and 300-meter (39.98) hurdles at the Bill Dodd Invitational in Parma.
Sam Hopp, Twinsburg track and field
Won the 800 (2:01.88) and 1,600 meters (4:26.40) at the Bill Dodd Invitational in Parma.
Noah Jung, Norton baseball
Had a home run, a double, a walk and scored twice in an 8-1 win over Columbus Academy, and had two doubles and a run scored in a 5-3 win over Norwayne.
Connor McGough, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy baseball
Went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and two RBIs in a an 8-4 win over Lake Catholic.
Will Tober, St. Vincent-St. Mary baseball
Pitched a one-hitter, allowing just a bunt single, and struck out five in a 3-1 win over Lake.
