Cincinnati Enquirer readers showed up to choose the next Student of the Week for the period ending May 8.
Each week, these ballots are posted at 7 a.m. on Mondays. Like the popular athlete of the week ballots, voters may cast a ballot once an hour until the 2 p.m. deadline on Fridays.
School representatives such as teachers, counselors, club advisers, communication staff and principals can nominate these high school students by 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
Here is this week’s winner.
Maddy Cardenas Clark, Colerain High School
Maddy Cardenas Clark, a junior at Colerain High School, represents the best of Colerain’s student community. She is a committed student, the most positive person and the biggest cheerleader for her friends and peers – literally.
Maddy balances a rigorous academic course load of AP and CCP classes while actively participating in school and community events. She serves as a representative for a regional youth leadership program, is a dedicated member of the CHS choir and has been a talented member of the Colerain varsity cheer program for the past three years.
She is someone her peers aspire to be, always leading by example and filling every classroom, field or court with joy. Colerain High School is fortunate to have Maddy representing the junior class with such integrity and character and looks forward to seeing her accomplishments in her senior year. C‑A‑R‑D‑S – Go, Cards, go!
