Giant Eagle recalls roasted turkey products across Ohio stores

If you bought certain roasted turkey items from Giant Eagle in the last two weeks, throw it away.

The grocery chain announced a recall of the poultry products from its prepared foods department over the potential presence of metal fragments. The issue was discovered during “routine inspection,” but Giant Eagle stated in a news release that there were no reports of illness or “other adverse reactions” as of May 7.

The products were first sold on April 28 in Giant Eagle and Market District locations across Ohio, western Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Indiana.

If you bought a roasted turkey product, like deli meat or entreés such as turkey pot pie, on or after April 28, toss it. You can head to your nearest Giant Eagle or Market District location for a full refund if you have your receipt.

You may also be receiving a phone call from Giant Eagle about the recall if you purchased an impacted product and have your most recent telephone number on your myPerks account. Phone numbers are collected from purchase data in the store’s myPerks customer database.

More details on the exact products, including name and UPC, can be found in the table below:
