New York Jets agree to long-term extension with RB Breece Hall

The New York Jets pulled off a signing some thought may never come.

The team has reportedly inked running back Breece Hall to a long-term contract extension. The 24-year-old was franchise tagged earlier this offseason and according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hall has signed a contract extension to remain in New York:

According to ESPN, of the $45.75 million heading to Hall, there is $29 million guaranteed in his new contract. Hall was previously franchise tagged by the Jets early March which was a one-year deal worth a guaranteed $14.2 million.

On his new deal, Hall will earn an AAV of $15.25 million per year. That makes him the third-highest paid rusher in the NFL, behind behind Saquon Barkley ($20.6M) and Christian McCaffrey ($19M).

Hall is coming off arguably his best season since he entered the league as the 36th overall pick (second round) of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State. Hall finished the 2025 campaign having carried the ball 243 times for 1,065 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and four touchdowns while also catching 36-of-48 targets for 350 yards and one touchdown.
