What to know: ODOT seeks public input for drainage improvement project in Paint Township

CHILLICOTHE ― The Ohio Department of Transportation-District Nine’s Planning Department and the Environmental Office is seeking public input for a drainage improvement project on Ohio 41 in Ross County.

This proposed project will address flooding on Ohio 41 between Free Lane and Cliff Run Road in the rural area of Paint Township.

The project will need approximately 0.418 acres of permanent right-of-way located in residential lawns and a wooden lot.

It will also require 0.087 acres of temporary right-of-way in residential lawns.

The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The detour will be U.S. 50 to Ohio 753 to Ohio 28, and is approximately 20 miles.

No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.

The Springfield Township Trustees’ 2026 budget meeting will be held at 6:45 p.m. on June 24 at the Township Hall, 95 Musselman Mill Road, Chillicothe.

The Chillicothe Tree Commission will meet at 5 p.m. on June 17 at the Rotary Shelter in Yoctangee Park, Chillicothe.

The Ross-Pike County Educational Service District’s Governing Board will hold its monthly board meeting at 5:00 p.m. on June 16th at the Pike County Educational Service District, 120 American Blvd., Piketon.

The Ross County Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on June 17 in the Commissioners Conference Room located at 2 N. Paint Street, Suite H, Chillicothe.
