Tickets are available through July 24 for the 2026 Greater Alliance Carnation Festival’s Community Luncheon.
The event, planned for 11:30 a.m. Aug. 1 at the Hoover-Price Campus Center at University of Mount Union, will feature Alliance native Teleangè Thomas as the keynote speaker.
Thomas is a community fundraiser in addition to working as an adviser to small businesses. She attended North Lincoln and Stanton Junior High School in Alliance through eighth grade before she accepted an A Better Chance scholarship to attend State College High School in Pennsylvania.
Thomas then earned a bachelor of science in business administration, management and operations from Case Western Reserve University.
She is actively involved in nonprofits in Northeast Ohio, co-founding several civic and entrepreneurial initiatives, including The Soul of Philanthropy Cleveland; Cleveland Black Equity & Humanity Fund; and FutureLAND.
Thomas has received honors such as Leadership Cleveland; ECDI Women’s Business Centers of Ohio Woman of the Year; and Crain’s Woman of Note. She serves on the boards of Cleveland Port Authority and Policy Matters Ohio.
Thomas is the founder and managing partner of PLATTFORMS, where she advises small businesses, launches ventures and helps organizations strengthen strategy and impact. Most recently, she served as chief operating and relationship officer at JumpStart Inc., where she oversaw $150 million in assets and supported entrepreneurs with capital, connections and resources.
Tickets, which are $15, will be available through July 24 at Compu Tek Computers, 703 S. Union Ave. in Alliance. The business is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
